The meaning of life: to create plastic.

Humans are pretty pointless. But what have humans created that the earth didn't have before? Err, plastic.
To quote George Carlin, again, look here, 'the planet is fine, the people are fucked' but I digress. We're just a failed mutation, etc etc, and all we'll leave is probably...plastic! They wanted plastic for itself.
Why are we here? PLASTIC, ASSHOLES.

But seriously, the meaning of life is the living. Has anyone read the Alchemist? The first time I read it, I slammed the goddamn book down and asked myself if I understood it. I didn't. But it's one of those books which I can understand not understanding - you have to have lived it yourself. The meaning of life is different for everyone, and so the meaning of life is just to live. Here's a present, do what you like with it. Maybe you'll enjoy it, or maybe you'll throw it away. Maybe you'll destroy it all. If you get all caught up in the future of the present, or where the present has been, then you lose the joy of having such a present in the first place. I don't think it's a coincidence when they adopted the word from wherever, that it should be called the 'present' and not something else.

Wait, if we're going to have a serious discussion of this, then can you guys at least give your reasons for believing there is no purpose to life or that the purpose is to reproduce? It doesn't do much to just state your opinions. It doesn't promote thought or inspire others to believe as you do and since I'm interested in philosophy and trying to find the answers to these questions, I wish it would be discussed more in depth, so I can consider your viewpoints more thoroughly.
