A teen prodigy has revealed plans for his invention that could potentially clean up 7,250,000 tons of plastic from the world's oceans.
The array is made up of an anchored network of floating booms, and processing platforms and could be sent to patches of garbage around the world. Instead of it being forced to travel around the world, however, the array can be sent to an area with a high concentration of garbage and act as a funnel.
The angle of the booms traps the plastic, where it can be separated from Plankton and then recycled.
