This paradox is why i don't believe in time travel, at least if we live in one universe. If parallel universe's exist, time travel is still plausible but definitively not in a one universe system. So here it goes.

Let's say you go back in time, a day before Elvis created his famous song 'Aint Nothin' but a Hound Dog'. You came to his house and taught him the song and he sang it. Who made the song? You learned the song from Elvis and Elvis learned the song from you, so where did the song come from? Did it always just exist in the universe, free floating since the beginning of time?

And what would happen if you went back and shot yourself?

Maybe we'll know for sure one day.

If parallel worlds exist there is no natural reason for any interaction between the two. There are some exceptions, but in general things that are parallel supposedly should never ever meet.

It's like asking which came first: the chicken or the egg. Things exist relative to each other in time.
