What is the worst meal you ever had to pretend to enjoy?

Last year's church Father's Day dinner.

The "ladies" of the church cooked the meal, and, I'm sorry, but they would have been better off going to that "you want fries with that place" and gotten takeout.

They made hamburgers that were dry and absolutely tasteless. The baked beans were warmed up out of a generic can. And the salad had spent far too long at room temperature.

Later, I told the minister and the elder's that if it was all the same to them, I'd cook it next year.

Pretty much sums up most BBQ's I've been to. Most people fail to make a tasty burger. :(

There's a trick to it.

And I make very good baked beans as well..... starting with browning some chopped onions in bacon grease and a bit of butter, then we go from there. (no, I don't play fair when cooking)

I don't like baked beans myself but I'd try one of your burgers! :readytoeat:
