Not only is Nala the teacup poodle one of the most adorable balls of fluff you’re ever likely to see, she’s also a pup with a heart. Not to mention some seriously impressive lift-riding skills.
Nala belongs to nursing home worker Doug, who brought her along with him to work in Minnesota last year.
The little dog quickly became a favorite of the home’s residents when she started jumping on their laps for some quality hug time.
So far, so ordinary.
But Nala has the edge over your average care home visiting pooch.
Why? Because she uses the lifts in the rest home all by herself. Can you believe it?
‘She’d press the buttons herself if she could,’ says Doug.
Unfortunately being a teacup poodle, her paws don’t quite have the reach she’d need to do that. So someone else deals with that minor detail.
Once she’s reached her destination Nala loves to visit her favorite friends. Workers at the home say she can even sense which residents have Alzheimer's and will spend extra time with them.
