Today in the state of Wisconsin (where I am from), it's "National Pig Day"

Where I am pleased, as Piggy's happen to be my favorite animal. And years ago, we raised a few for butchering purposes. That was a sad day for me, as I always had a favorite pig, as I named them all, but made sure to tell my husband which piggy would not end on our dinner table. 🐷

It must be hard to form a bond with an animal and then all of the sudden you're eating it for dinner.
