To the elder generation out there,

What do you think is worse about today's younger generation (as compared to your generation)?
What do you think is better?

This might be without merit since I'm only 28 and still very young, but a lot of kids in this later "millennial" or Generation Z age seem to have been born and raised to become people who are quite confident in their knowledge of understanding life and the way the world works. Perhaps this is a moot point as that has always existed, but I feel as though more and more kids have been handed their things and their opportunities on a platter, which gives them a sense of narcissism and entitlement. Of course, this isn't always the case. Not every millennial has been handed what they want without having to work or contribute, but it seems to be a more prevalent occurrence among young adults, teens, and younger kids.

Part of this has to do with our country's obsession with discovering new ways to make things easier. And really you see it making a huge impact in the mid to late 80s and of course well into the 90s and 00s. The never-ending quest to make the most sleek phone that can double or triple as your television and your alarm. Communication, for instance, is a good example of how kids now-a-days rely on technology to do things for them; thus, eliminating the need to actually write a letter or call and talk to someone.

I mean, if you simply look at the names we've given this generation: "Gen Z", "Generation Me", it explains it rather to a T just how self-entitled and indolent, in many aspects of life, kids have become. That's not to blame their laziness entirely on them. When you grow up in a culture that promotes certain things, and your parents and your friends--the most influential people in your life--encourage and live by certain ethics and beliefs themselves, it's tough to learn a different way of life.

I could get way deeper into this, but there are so many aspects of what goes into how a generation is affected and why that it would get out of control, and my brain would explode.
