No, no; that will not work on the kids' phones. Gotta be digital, donchaknow?Seems like a waste of money, teacher can just create a sign out sheet and have the kid write down what time they left for the bathroom and what time they came back. They used to have us do that in school. There was always a clipboard by the door.
Lol. I know right. No, no; that will not work on the kids' phones. Gotta be digital, donchaknow?![]()
We had one teacher who had her own restroom sign out sheet and would write down the real times when kids left and returned. She'd then compare them against what we wrote and bust anyone who was lying.Seems like a waste of money, teacher can just create a sign out sheet and have the kid write down what time they left for the bathroom and what time they came back. Take a way recess, detention, parent phone call, etc.Bust how? Were there actual consequences or just 'liar liar, pants on fire' mockery?
It's a mystery how teachers live through teaching jr. hi-school kids.Lol. I know right.

Jr. high school kids are the worst! It's a mystery how teachers live through teaching jr. hi-school kids.![]()
Its significant when you're a little kid. I loved recess and didn't want to stay after school (detention). I wasn't scared of parent phone calls because my mom didn't care what the teacher had to say. LolSo basically, nothing. No real consequences of any significance.
I never cared for recess (I don't take breaks at work either),
Recess and lunch were the best times of the school day for me.Must be just me, then. I never cared for recess (I don't take breaks at work either), and staying after school was never an option, not used as a method of punishment.![]()
Really? Huh. No one ever told me anything like that at my workplace. They tell us to take our breaks here, otherwise the employer can get in trouble / fined.

I once had a choice of receiving three board-licks from the vice-principal or writing, "I will not shoot spitwads in class." 500 times on the blackboard.
My choice was definitely the licks....get it over with quick, man!

I have, however, noticed an interesting pattern. On rare occasions, when I use the allotted break time to go to the, say, a nearest pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions, my mobile phone rings and whaddaya know - it's someone from work calling me to immediately come back, chastising me for leaving the building during the break time period, because some unexpected shit cropped up the moment I walked out of the building, and it just can't wait for me to come back on my own because it's an equivalent of a life and death emergency, which, of course, it never is, but hey - gotta make some drama to keep everyone on their toes.
Interestingly enough, nothing extraordinary happens the other 99% of the times when I skip break and remain at my desk, pressing on with work.

I've tried that too, even turned it off. Guess what? I got chastised for not answering and / or having my personal mobile phone turned off during the break time.If work calls me during my break I don't answer the phone![]()

Of course, no one ever commended my dedication I keep displaying on constant basis. Apparently, 1% outweighs 99%.![]()
I did on several occasions, and got denied each time. Apparently, my position doesn't warrant a phone on company's expense, despite me keeping their IT systems from falling apart.
Remember when I said in another thread that it took them years to buy me a measly pen, after several extensive arguments with my superior who made me submit a written request for one, not to mention the other specialized tools and equipment I need but the company won't pay for, despite not being too expensive? And you think they're going to dish out for a mobile phone & the associated monthly bill?
