What has been your worst travel experience?

I remember when we went to Las Vegas and my mom slipped in the shower as she was getting out. Scraped her leg/side all up on the tracks (had a sliding glass door on the shower). The hotel got her a cab, sent her to the hospital and comped all our fees and free room service. Luckily she didn't break anything, just badly bruised.

New Orleans

I did an extensive writeup on the city, and posted A LOT of photos (links below).

And NEVER once mentioned the hotel we stayed at with our friends.

With good reason.

The hotel had a couple of "stars" from various ratings outfits. From us, they would have gotten a negative score, and, in my opinion, they were lucky we didn't call a lawyer (curse-spit) while we were there.

Our promised, and paid for, three room suite was not available, nor would it be anytime soon. Parking was NOT free as we had been told, and the lot was two blocks away and did NOT have handicapped spaces to boot. I had to fix the in suite laundry facilities so we could use them, there was NO continental breakfast (as shown in the brochure)... and so on. There were even lizards that ran up and down the hallway, I guess we were lucky they didn't try to sell us car insurance.

They paid PART of the parking, put us in a two roomer and refunded some of the rental, then they gave us all sorts of freebies, and their maintenance supervisor told me if I was to move down there to apply for a job with the company.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Probably going to Florida for the first time, our bags got left behind. Or one of the various delays I've occurred, perhaps the one I had flying out on Christmas Day 2006 to New Zealand.

filthy dirty place.............came back and had 3 weeks off work with salmanella food poisoning

only place ive been where when we were coming home, as the wheels of the plane left the runway the whole plane cheered!!
