Do you think it’s dangerous for children to go trick-or-treating?

Why or why not?

I watched this documentary with Jamie Lee Curtis about Halloween once, and it just doesn't seem safe 😂

But honestly, it seems inherently unsafe but there is not a lot of data to show that it is actually unsafe.
News about fentanyl/razor blades etc?
Abductions?

Mischief night / devils night / whatever you call it seems more dangerous.

Btw I love the idea of all souls day / all saints day, and dia de los muertos. I never knew about those growing up.

sure

I mean you're always going to get a few strange characters what ever you do

loads of people do it here every year and there's never been any issues- especially if they come to my house.

last year I did candy spiders, and I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do this year- perhaps the same, perhaps something different. they did go down really well though

I don't think it's unsafe. As long as children are supervised up to a certain age or the teen is responsible and has been taught well, then it seems safe to me.

You know, I used to wonder where that poison candy story we all heard growing up came from and it wasnt until a few years ago that I learned the truth..

Some old lady who lived in Long Island was intentionally giving out poison candy to kids..

So with that said, yes trick or treating can be dangerous, and with all of these deranged ammosexuals out there shooting kids for being at the wrong address, I would say that it can be deadly.

I was the neighborhood trick or treater.. I was the one entrusted by the parents in the building to take their kids trick or treating and the kids loved going with me because I would tell them to put their mask in their bookbags so that they could get started after school while the Sun was still up.. this guaranteed that you got the best candy and the Jewish residents gave out money.. and then later on we would go out again but with the older kids ans different costumes and hit the same places again.. the candy got worse the later you went so pretty much after dinner was the best time to go.

We would also get money from those who ran out of candy but felt bad (or drunk from the party they were throwing) and I was like the only kid who had the sense to go to the bodegas and Mcdonald's as well. Back then they gave you cookies and a child-size drink for free and the bodegas let you pick 50¢ worth of candy from their 5¢ candy display..

And in my years as a trick or treater I have never gotten a bad candy.. just pennies and a few popcorn balls.. lol

Like all things in life, It can be dangerous. Doesn't mean it is 100% of the time. Parents just need to be smart, check their kid's candy, etc.

Not dangerous just pointless.

Now now, Trick or Treating is fun! Just like Christmas, it's all about the spirit of it.

Halloween isn't such a big deal here. Another reason I don't like it is because it is too close to the date of my mother's death.

It's no more dangerous than going to the dentist. 😄

In the summer of 1975 in my city a guy murdered four children. When Halloween came along there were hardly any kids trick and treating and those you saw had either a parent or older sibling with them. As for it being dangerous, hardly. There are too many witnesses around. I couldn't be bothered to look up statistics but there probably is a study where someone correlated what days most children disappear.
