Tried to kill you

If someone invaded your home, tried to kill you, but failed, was incapacitated in the process, and begged for his/her life, would you spare him or kill him? (Please explain your answer).

I would kill them duhh.. The reason is; they tried to kill you but failed, so that means they would probably try to kill me again.. I'm going to to kill them on the spot. I'm not going to spare their lives when he it she just tried to take mine.

Well, I would be fighting for my life, so I would be trying to kill the intruder. If I only wounded them to the point where they weren't a threat to me anymore, I would let the cops come take them away.

I would normally agree with Legend, except the OP said the person who broke into my house was now incapacitated. We're assuming that for some reason I didn't shoot them dead the instant they got into my house, and some other unknown scenario allowed them to live long enough to become incapacitated somehow.

If the intruder is still alive and became unable to do anything, then I would hold them at gunpoint until the cops got there.

I don't want to ever have to kill someone. But that's what will happen to a person coming into my house uninvited. Taking Jazzy's situation into consideration, I wouldn't need to kill them if they were no longer able to hurt me. They may get the butt end of my shotgun upside a temple to be sure they're unable to hurt me, but you can't kill a person who is no threat to you. Well, I suppose you can, but you shouldn't.

Well yeah; I would probably hurt them to the point where they couldn't try to hurt me again, because I would also not want to ever kill anyone, but I never know what I would do if I were in the situation for real.

Depending on if I would be tried for murder or self defense...?

I think I'd let them be, call the cops, and have them deal with the intruder. I feel they'd be better suited to rot in prison for attempted murder than to take the easy way out.

if they are incapacidated it means any threat is gone

if theres no threat if you kill them it would be murder.............ensure they cant hurt you before the cops arrive

I'd kill them, since they tried to do it to me. First of all, they're in MY house. Breaking into my house is enough to get you shot in the first place.

Personally, I would spare them. If they try and hurt someone, they deserve the consequences. So now, they will die in prison. Not from my gun shot.
