Ubuntu or Linux

Ubuntu is Linux. Or to be more specific a distribution of Linux. Here are another two popular Linux Distros, Debian and Fedora.

Seconding this. Android is also Linux-based.
Maybe editing the title and adding a closed-source OS (Windows for example) after the "or" won't confuse people.

anyway...can i dual boot Ubuntu and windows?

Yep, that's possible. But you'll need to make a partition for it. I recommend installing Ubuntu on a small partition so you won't have issues when installing Windows programs.

It depends on to what you'll want to use operating system? You need to narrow your needs more specific. It's hard to clearly assess because each of these systems has its advantages and disadvantages.

It's pretty easy to dual boot with most distributions. Ubuntu makes it pretty easy as it has all of the partitioning related tools directly in the installer. You still need to know what you're doing, but most desktop distributions nowadays make it relatively easy to do, as long as Windows is installed first.

Hmm.. Darth-apple, do you think that could be some issue of booting Linux and Windows on SSD hard drive?
