So Ukraine and the Russian Federation... should it be part of the E.U or Russian Federation? UN shouldn't have a say in this since it's supposed to be the people's choices eh?

Protesters in Ukraine have toppled a statue of Vladimir Lenin in Kiev as hundreds of thousands flooded the capital.

Police said people wearing masks pulled down and decapitated the statue of the Russian revolutionary leader in the centre of the city.

Protesters took turns beating on the torso of the fallen monument, while others chanted "Glory to Ukraine!"

The chaotic protest further raised tensions in the Ukrainian capital, where protesters have gathered to denounce the government's move away from Europe and toward Moscow.

The red granite, 3.5-metre high statue was constructed in December 1946 just after World War II ended.

Leading opposition politician Andriy Shevchenko said that the toppling of the statue had not been an initiative of the opposition leaders on Independence Square. "We can say that people organised themselves," he said.

The empty plinth of the statue on Bessarabia Square was surrounded by jubilant protesters who hacked away with axes at the remnants of the monument lying flat on the ground.

Appears the people are making the choice for themselves. Will they succeed?

yes, they are making very good decisions for themselves, not dictated by the UN or the EU or even Russia, and not wanting to sign treaties with the EU is the best for them, and even some got beaten up for it, I heard.
Is the EU happy with it? No, of course not.
