I realize this topic may seem inappropriate, but I'd really like to hear your opinions on the subject of underaged and unprotected sex. Did you know that everyday thousands of teenage girls are told they are pregnant? How do you respond to this?

What would you do if you found that your son/daughter had been engaging in this kind of activity?

Education. They're going to make their own choices and they're going to have to deal with the consequences of those choices, even if it means becoming parents and having to drop out of school/college to get a job to support your kid.

You can only educate people about it. You can keep an eye on them all day every day.

Well I was a teenage father.. I got my girl pregnant when I was 18 and she was 17. I dont regret anything though, it made me grow up and snap out of my foolish ways. I was headed down the wrong path in life and having a child gave me the wake up call I needed to become a better person.

However I dont condone it and I think kids should wait until they are an adult to do adult activities. If they are going to do it no matter what, then they need to be protected. There is places like Planned Parenthood around here that will give teens free condoms and birth control.

I'm pro-life, so the more underage relationships like that, the more abortions there are. I do think that there can be some good things that come out of it, for sure, like Nebulous said. And if they're gonna be doing it anyways, they should be protected. It confuses me why some people are against using a condom because it isn't natural. If they're pro-life, wouldn't it be better for them to use a condom rather than not use one and have the possible outcome be an abortion?

Technically, you were an adult when you had a child, and depending on California's laws, it may or may not have been legal for you to have sex with her. Regardless, I do agree with you on your views, as well as everyone elses. I certainly do not condone underage sex, and if teens are going to do that stuff they need to use protection. It's just not right in my opinion.

Hm, is a condom alone good enough? (with the ability to get a plan B pill)

Or should you have her on birth control as well?

It's not just about kids either. I know girls who have tons of unprotected sex with different people, yet claim it's alright because they're on birth control. They don't even consider that they're putting their own health and that of their flings in danger. Last I checked, STDs still exist.

I think sex is natural and that it's okay to have it when you feel ready, be that when you're seventeen or twenty-eight (or older/younger)... but if you're not prepared to have a child, use protection.

Well you mentioned it being natural. If you want to think that way, condoms aren't natural. So with that logic, you should be ready to have kids when you have sex.

How are condoms not natural? Humans are a result of nature, and humans created condoms. Humans created condoms, Ants created anthills. Condoms are as natural as are anthills.

Condoms aren't natural in a sense because animals don't use them. Sex is not meant for pleasure, it is meant to produce children. Sex only gives pleasure so people have a reason to do it.

Just because a person created/invented something doesn't make it something that is natural.

Or, rather, you misinterpreted what I said. Don't you agree that the urge and want to have sex is natural? Because that was my point. And yes, in the way you were putting it, condoms aren't natural, but it's better than not using protection.

Putting chlorine in a pool to keep from getting sick isn't natural either.. humans do it because we are smart. Same deal with birth control and condoms.

Nobody is disputing the fact that using condoms is a good thing, its just that a side debate of weather or not condoms are natural or not seemed to have sprouted.

I don't see why humans are considered outside of nature though considering that we are a part of it.

Well I think those kids need to stop it and wait, nothing good comes from being pregnant and especially at a young age. ( I suppose having a child is the only thing good that comes from someone being pregnant.) In my opinion the girls that get pregnant are just dumb, they get themselves in such bad situations if they get pregnant.

I don't want kids as I can barely stand them, but If I did have a child I would tell them that they shouldn't do it. I'd probabally yell thier face off.
