What do you guys think about album releases by artists that are a bit unexpected? By that, I mean albums that haven't had much promotion before they were released. Do you like it? Or do you prefer artists to create a bit of hype for an album before they release it?

Unexpected albums

It doesn’t really bother me much. I get annoyed when some artists release half the album before it drops, so it kills part of the experience for me. I liken it to the equivalence of how some movies release so many trailers that you basically saw half the movie.
