I'm very excited about checking out the Unity gaming engine, The "personal" version is free. It looks wicked tho! I can apparently create a 3D exploration game as part of a tutorial. Cool!

It's not a game, it's an engine that let's you create your own games. :)

Unity requires visual studio for C# coding and also it is pretty heavy engine. Your system would demand a lot of RAM for that engine. I'd say go with the godot engine.

I like it so far. I downloaded the basis for a 3D RPG game that I'm building on. Plus there are 1000's of custom made resources I can download and use. It is using 1.8GB RAM on my laptop (out of 12GB). I'm getting my main PC fixed soon which has 32GB RAM and space on my SSD. :)

The demo game worked flawlessly. Not sure how many FPS I was getting tho...

I have seen fewt games make use of this engine and it is a pretty hit.

Agreed. It seems to have limitless possibilities!
