We're all prone to getting unsolicited advice from friends, family, or strangers at times.

Question:

How do you handle unsolicited advice?

It really depends on the situation, who it's coming from, and what my mood is. For instance, I'd probably be more prone to snap at my mom if she offered me unsolicited advice about a certain thing, but depends on what that advice is for (of course, I'm going to at least allow her to give me her opinion)!

I guess I take it all in stride, especially if it's about work stuff. I am open and keen to pay attention to that stuff.

I would neva pass up an opportunity to listen to what someone is saying to me. When they are finished sharing some advice with me ..I simply sift through it all .. take what means something on board ..and just forget the rest.

I wouldn't pass it up either. Sometimes people can see things in ways you wouldn't and it would only do yourself a disservice to not hear them out and give a honest consideration to what they had to say regarding whatever it is they are advising you on.

Some people give advice randomly because they think they're helping and because they care. Sometimes the advice can help + make you feel better and other times its not welcome and offends you. It's up to the person offering the advice to figure out if its a good time or not. :P
