Your thoughts on forums where members are using "excessive" profanity on the open board and not in a hidden section?

I hardly swear in real life, yet on a forum. But when I do, I try to use it in good context. But I think to much profanity on a board can make the board unattractive.

They're just words to me. :dontknow:

I don't mind if other people swear. But if they are doing it way to much, I might think they are a little odd for that. Nobody inserts a swear word in between each other word when they're naturally speaking.

This is my thought on the matter; however, there is a point at which I feel someone can use too much profanity, and when they probably should tone it down.

It depends on who the "nobody" is.

At one time I worked with individuals who could not speak a sentence of more than three words without using one or more profane words.

It was even in one of their court transcripts where the judge had warned them to speak civilly or be cited for contempt.

They couldn't do it and their lawyer had to file a motion to allow them to give their statement in private, have it edited, then read to the court.
