Do you think video game remakes are just as good as the original?

I remember they released the Final Fantasy 7 remake and it didn't feel like it was a remake at all because they added in a multi-verse and called it an alternate time line. They changed the battle system and added in some filler. Even the end game fight with Sephiroth was totally off because that scene was not in the first act of the original game at all. Did I think it was better? Not in the sense that it is a remake but it was good for being it's own thing.

I don't see why they're not in their own different way, most of the time anyway. I've played FFVII countless times when it came out on ps1 so I'm familiar with the story. When the remake came out, I was a little on the fence about it. But, the direction they are going is pretty kick ass and it feels like something entirely different and I'm fine with that. Plus, as much as I enjoyed FVII, looking back on the character design....I'm just glad that with remake we get to see everything much better.

Yakuza Kiwami was an improvement from Yakuza the ps2 version....

I only played a bit of the Resident Evil 2 remake, during that timed demo. Wasn't really a fan of them going to first person then ultimately got sidetracked by other stuff so lol.
