Do you think there is too much violence in television and movies?
Do you like seeing violence in television and movies? Does it desensitize you?

Do you think television and movies are the leading cause of violence in today's society?

Probably, but honestly, if you don't like it, don't watch it.
If there's a reason for it to be there, sure.
There's a rather big difference between seeing violence on TV and seeing violence IRL. It might desensitise you to fake violence.

No. Violence has been around a lot longer than television and movies.

I'm desensitized, but not exactly through movies and TV. Rather, I've been desensitized by the news. You see horrible images, not so much on TV but on news online, bodies torn to pieces, countless deaths, destruction etc. and... I just don't care. I know some people would be shocked and freaked out, but I'm not.

Even things in reality don't shock me as much as they should. I recall I was in town a few years ago, and a guy ran into the bank. As he did so, the metal grate that blocks the doorway fell from above, cracked his skull open and left him oozing blood on the ground. Lots of people were sickened by it, but it didn't faze me at all.

Media in general does desensitize you, though.
