How often do you do them? I apparently need to do them more often. My computer started lagging really bad, so I did a virus scan, and turns out I had a combination of 400 Trojans, Malware, Spyware, and Adware. Must be a record.

What's your record virus count?

I do them once every 6 months.Skillet, half are those are probably false positives.

There are some nasty viruses out there lately that can be very tricky to remove. My mom's net book recently had a whole load of infections, which had originated from one virus which had then downloaded all sorts of trojans and malware. It even blocked her from doing the online scans you can do, planted itself in her restore folder so if she restored, it came back, and also planted itself in her start up folder, so when she thought it had gone, it came back on restart.

My fiance is an IT professional, and by the time she gave up and asked him for help, it had got so bad that it took him hours to remove every element of the infection.

There was a virus in a program I installed from the internet, that virus made so that everytime you opened Firefox ads would pop up.Finding it and deleting it was a real PAIN.

No idea what mine is, I never scan mine tbh, cos I don't download much or visit sites that could give me viruses.

My mom got her worm virus from clicking a link on facebook, it looked innocent enough to her, you have to be so careful.

I went on a site last week that had unbeknown to me been hijacked by some idiots. I got a virus which my software immediately caught but it was a nasty one, I got rid of it right away but there was a trojan downloader and 3 trojan clients in a matter of seconds.

Whenever McAfee yells at me to scan for viruses. It'll do it every once in a while, but tonight I'll run a full scan because it has been telling me to do a virus scan for over a week lol Probably about time. So far so good, never have had a virus, but if it'll make McAfee happy, I'll run one.

I do it every now and then, i tend to be careful and can tell when you see those fake URL's.
