warrior, mage, or rogue

Most of the time I tend to favour mage classes, although the Skyrim run I recently did I went for warrior. Not sure why I was much less interested in magic this time. I rarely go rogue because I normally get discouraged with the time investment that gets thrown out the window when I make my inevitable stuff up.
Everyone knows the guy with the sword is the coolest.
Who has the sword? The warrior?
In Diablo 3, just about every class can wield a sword. They just use the weapons differently. Wizards, Witch Doctor, and Necromancer will use a sword like it's a wand.
