So I accidentally washed my roku TV remote for the TV in my bedroom. When I was gathering up the sheets off my bed I guess it was in there. Didn't find the remote until I was putting laundry in the dryer. I let it sit a few days and dry out. I go to use it and it wasn't working. I thought maybe if I change the batteries it will work, and it does!

WoW!! What luck!

Score! And now you know what to do next time it gets dirty! I should try that with my keyboard.
Keyboard is probably safer since no batteries are involved (well, unless it's wireless).

Most electronics should survive clean water, really, as long as they aren't plugged in or running (I think Neb got lucky with those batteries in). Just make sure they are completely dry before connecting to current/putting in batteries. Things like coffee (esp. a large double double) and pop, on the other hand, that can leave residues are probably going to trash it. Been there, done that, didn't want the t-shirt (I had a co-worker in a previous job coffee at least two of her keyboards).

Not saying you should do it deliberately, of course, just that simple immersion in clean water isn't necessarily a death sentence for all devices.
