Weird Suggestions from members?

Have you ever gotten strange or weird suggestions from members? I know one time back in January, when Chatting Time was on a different host, I got a request to turn the forum into a dating/relationship site. Personally, I have no interest in those and I would never chage my forum to another genera as i love general chat forums. So naturally, given the reasons I gave you guys, I told this member that I had no plans as of then, nor will I ever make plans, to turn Chatting Time into a dating/releationship site at all.



What are some weird requests you've recieved?



BTW, I know that might not sound like a weird request for you guys, but it was for me because I have never been asked a request like that before... totally new experience right there.

I dont like it when people suggest something, nobody agrees with it, and the person gets all upset when their suggestion is not implemented.

I'm in the same boat as you are, Nebulous. It's especially frusterating when you try to explain to someone why you feel that a certain feature isn't needed or why you can't add it... e.g. your host won't allow the feature, etc. as I know there are some hosts that are picky about what features you can have.

Just curious Nebulous and Ashley: Have you never got a suggestion from a member that you thought was a great idea? If I was a forum owner, I would welcome suggestions from members,. You never know they might come up with something you haven't thought of that would really be a great addition. I think as long as you explain politely why a suggestion wasn't considered, members would understand and wouldn't get upset.

I take feedback of all kinds into consideration, Jazzy. If I don't like an idea or I don't think it'll work for whatever reason, I'll politely explain that I don't think the idea will work on the forum and I'll give my reasons why. So I do welcome all kinds of suggestions from members, even if they won't all work.

You've been around here long enough to see that several member suggestions have been a great idea and have been implemented.

This topic is about the weird ones like if someone suggested (for example) that we delete all the posts on the forum so members can all have the same post count or (for example) we all start posting all messages in French and ban English.

Well, like I said, the dating site suggestion was a strange one for me, as I have never been asked of such a request before. And like I said, I enjoy general chat so I will not now, nor will I ever, change the outlook of what my site is about.
