Were the Mayan off by one (1) year or maybe we just did not count year (0)!?

2013 (not 2012!) could be the year of the great comets!!!

'Brighter than a full moon': The biggest star of 2013... could be Ison - the comet of the century!

A comet discovered by two Russian astronomers will be visible from Earth next year. Get ready for a once-in-a lifetime light show, says David Whitehouse:

At the moment it is a faint object, visible only in sophisticated telescopes as a point of light moving slowly against the background stars. It doesn't seem much – a frozen chunk of rock and ice – one of many moving in the depths of space. But this one is being tracked with eager anticipation by astronomers from around the world, and in a year everyone could know its name...

D'aww, we're gonna get something nice for our one year anniversary

Well, very large comets usually bring along very significant global Earth and climate changes...at least in accordance to ancient myths...

Well, Haley's Comet comes by often enough and doesn't really do much... so I wouldn't put too much stock in myth.

Well, I am not forcing you or anyone else here to believe on anything, so do as you wish...

But yet again, year zero (0), in the BC/AC transition, may not have been counted when the modern day researchers were attempting to synchronize the modern day calendar with the ancient calendars that had already been counting for thousands and thousands of years...and, of course, Haley's Comet was definitely not a very large comet when compared to end of age/era comets...

Wouldn't they be more likely to screw up on the Julian-Gregorian shift?

Ah well, we'll have to wait and see, eh?

Well, I believe that they screwed-up on that also. For example, Sept (which means 7), Oct (which means 8 ), Nov (which means 9) and Dec (which means 10) were the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th months of the year and not the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th months of the year, before that transition...and, of course, the Chinese new year is still around Feb/March and NOT at the end of December...

So yes, there are indeed many errors on old calendar synchronization dates...in terms of months and years...
