I met this guy yesterday who I thought was nice enough. Then I rapidly changed my mind. Here's what he said to me:

"Wow, you have green eyes. You'd be so much prettier, however, if your hair was dark."

Me: "You'd be so much smarter if you learned to keep your mouth shut."

What a jerk! Not sure why I keep meeting these jerks. Anyone other than me having this problem too?

I have met someone who insulted me because of what I studied at university and then he asked me out. On the same day in the same conversation. I could have hit him.

That was pretty rude! He should have just commented on your eyes ...or said nothing at all!

I give you a lot of credit for not smacking him.

The funniest part, Nebulous, was after I said what I did, he called me a "rude bitch."

I think HE was the rude bitch

I obviously lack the tone of voice used when he spoke but I really don't see what was so offensive about his comment. You could have easily just shrugged it off instead of outright insulting him for it.

Even if his comment was insulting, it's no reason to sink down to that level as it doesn't make it any more right or classy to insult someone even if they did it first. The old excuse of " but he hit me first" is the sort of argument you hear from little kids not grown adults.

Like I said before, I don't have the tone of voice used as it can turn an innocent comment into an insulting one as this above comment is based on what was said and nothing else as that's all I got to go on.

I appreciate what you had to say Bluezone777. This guy went out of his way to approach me. This was the only thing he had to say to me. It wasn't only the tone he used it was the way he looked at me with almost disdain. I didn't invite him over as I was just sitting there minding my own business. You are correct, however, that it was not very classy of me to have replied back what I did. I don't, however, regret what I said as he was obviously not used to a woman talking back to him in the manner I did. He stomped off after calling me a rude bitch. I could hear him muttering something else but I couldn't make out what he was saying.

That was just plain rudeness and stupidity on his part. There are many people out there that do that very same thing, they want the other to be who they want them to be, not who they are. I'm so glad I'm married to the most sweetest woman in the world, in my eyes anyways. :)

That's very sweet what you said about your wife. You're not half bad yourself!

@Nikki: Unfortunately, the world is full of jerks. Just got to keep your head up and keep going.
