What are some good video games for kids?

Ones that aren't too serious with a lot of violence. Preferably ones that have an educational undertone but where the kids don't realize they are actually learning something while having fun. While I don't have kids, I know this topic has come up before in my family & I was always at a loss as to what to say. What do you suggest?

There are a lot of decent mobile games. As far as console games, I'm not sure. I let my daughter (nearly 4yo) play Chess and Bomberman on my SNES emulator. Bomberman is... violent? it's cartoonish. it's fun. It's a puzzle game.

I would say The Sims but that also has sexual scenes in it so I’m not sure if it pass. ?

I would recommend Unpacking as one good example for kids to play. It's a relatively relaxing video game.
