Wow, that’s impressive!Got my BA in computer science and my Masters in Cyber Security.
What made you want to switch jobs? Now I’m a first responder in paramedic school.
That’s pretty cool I’m not gunna lieI work in a factory that makes industrial coolers, freezers and other kitchen aides. I used to make parts that went on the coolers but now I deal with paperwork whenever my coworkers get done making parts. I work in the only section that makes shelves for the coolers and freezers.
I got bored to be honest. I wanted something that made me feel like I could contribute to Society more
Nice. I feel like I help society out in a small way. These days I work a city job for the local parks department. I do all the maintenance / clean-up / groundskeeping on several ones in the area.
Its sad how many crack pipes and needles I find though.
Amazing when you do one thing for a long time and then decide you want a complete change.
I trained as an engineering fitter and in the job I had longest I used to build sirens and whistles and similar air movement machinery.
I was made redundant in the 1990's and because of a downturn in engineering I took van driving jobs to put food on the table.
I then found a job delivering engineering products so my skills and experience stilll become of some use.
I am now retired about 8 years ago.
I am in between jobs atm.![]()
Ever see anything crazy being the first one on the scene?Yeah, it's strange to change careers completely. But I thoroughly enjoy what I do. It doesn't compare in pay at all to what I was doing but the satisfaction I get from being a first responder kinda outweighs that.
I do tech support for a communications product![]()
I don't miss working one little bit !
I have found sometimes I have dreams about when I worked though.
Currently working towards a PhD, and I’m working for a tech company in the healthcare sector.
At times I wish I had a job that meant I could travel more/spend more time outside, but I’m pretty happy.
