I like Zetaboards as an administrator because when you do a mass email (or bulk email as they call it) they have a set amount of days that you have before you can send out another email. The limit is 5 days. So I just sent out an email saying that we were reopened, well, now I can't send out another one for 5 days. Technically, I think the limit should be longer, because in the past I have been very bad with bulk emails. What do you guys like about your current hosts?

Okay, I used to love ZB, but they were absolute crap after a while (sorry about the language). Too many broken links, the stupid Forgot My Password link obviously doesn't work. I clicked it like ten times in one hour, and did I get a response back? No! So I went back to one of the first hosts I ever went with to begin with. ProPHPBB is probably the best of the free hosts out there! They don't have the mass email function, which kind of ticked me off at first, but on the same lines, they have awesome uptime, they load slow at times but 99% of the time they're really fast when it comes to loading, awesome support! And the staff members are really nice too. When I reposted an intro on the support forum, for instance, MD replied with, what took you so long? I got a good lol out of that one. Plus, a lot of their skins look so good that they almost don't really need a banner on them. So this is one host I'm definetly sticking with.

phpBB3: Is quite easy to modify and they have a large number of style for editing.

Black Legion: Quite a good host to be hosted by, seeing as UKG gets free access to any of their PC gaming servers for the PC gamers in our community, and they have unlimited bandwidth.

With HawkHost, I love how its never down and their prices are awesome.

I just moved host, and they have exellent speeds and great uptime

I use Zetaboards as well, and loving it, it has great help on the community easy to understand and others!

Say whut?

I love Zetaboards.

I think people hate it just as much as Proboards but I still like it because it works for me. I use ZB because it has everything I need for now. I especially like the website maker feature.

Except if zetaboards should suddenly get hacked or go out of buisness, your forum and all your hard work will disappear without notice. Not to mention, you will never be able to convert it to something else or move it off ZB.. It starts there, it dies there.

Its better to run forums that you maintain yourself on a webhost and have the ability to make backups. Just in case something happens.

You could say that about other hosts too, though. Not all, but others. One forum host..they said I had to use the software as is and I completely clicked the back button. I do wish they'd hire more people..some type of Board Restoral team or something. It might get better in time..it's still fairly new.

The thing is if no one bothers using ZB, the staff won't know what to improve on. Right now everyone owning a ZB forum should continue to ask for backup data. It'd also be great if you could just download and install skins .

But it is better to own your own forum. For more than that reason. I plan on migrating if my forum becomes successful (not just stats wise).

Its best to start your forum on a self hosted software so you dont have to restart it if you decide to move on to bigger and better things.

If you use a forum software like phpbb, mybb, smf, (which are all free), you could go get some hosting.. If your host fails, just take your most recent backup and install your forum on another host.. Then point your domain name to your new host.. The members dont even know you moved. Ive done it several times. Also all self hosted softwares have converters. I could convert this forum to IPB, VB, MyBB or whatever right now if I really wanted to.

I love my web host for it's uptime, speed, the services and support provided. I've yet to have any bad experiences so far. They community is very nice as well.

Stable, Good support, Good amount of mods and skins (If you know where to look)
