Off Topix: Embrace the Unexpected in Every Discussion
Off Topix is a well established general discussion forum that originally opened to the public way back in 2009! We provide a laid back atmosphere and our members are down to earth. We have a ton of content and fresh stuff is constantly being added. We cover all sorts of topics, so there's bound to be something inside to pique your interest. We welcome anyone and everyone to register & become a member of our awesome community.
Do you allow multiple accounts on your forums? In case you don't allow multiple accounts, what is your policy against users who create multiple accounts? Do you delete both accounts for violating rules, or delete all duplicate accounts of the users and keep just one account? Well, I don't allow duplicate accounts, and if I find duplicate accounts, I will ban duplicate accounts and allow the user to use just one account.
If we catch someone using sock puppet accounts, we ask which one they want to keep and merge them accordingly. If the user has been banned under one of the accounts, then we ban the others, too (we have a banned user who tries to come back fairly regularly, though she is currently messing around on another forum).
Duplicate and multiple accounts are not allowed. I haven't had any issues with anyone doing this. If it did happen, like someone was trying to skirt around a ban, the account in question would be banned.
We don't encourage it here but we don't have a specific rule against it. We just handle them on a case by case basis. Sometimes I'll merge them, sometimes I'll just watch them and see if the antics from their new account are entertaining or not.
