What scares you most about the internet?

The misinformation, by far. The internet should be free, and I feel like we're slowly moving away from that... I mean, a major debate topic in these Republican Presidential Debates is whether or not TikTok should be banned in our country... I don't see that ever happening, but it's crazy that it's a possibility.

Still, it scares me how easily individuals will believe whatever they see on here.

It can be addictive, in a negative way. It baffles me to see how many young ones just scroll their precious time away all day on the internet and social media. The time they should use productively they are wasting it on what brings no gain and benefits to them.

I totally agree! Whenever I'm out and see a young person at the store or even at church, their faces are in their phones. Is that a way to live life?

Hate groups. Been a target of a couple, I don't recommend it.

My personal information can be compromised. Think about how many sites we join and how much personal information we give to those sites. I regret joining social networks because there are bots that crawl social networks to add your information to some website's databases only for them to try and sell you personal information or just reveal it freely.

Since anyone and everyone can say what they want to say regardless of how poor they are when it comes to knowledge, yes it is scary when users believe what is said in there and follow instructions specially when it comes to health

I am scared that youngsters can pick up some information that they should not know. This is one of the downsides of using the internet without the supervision of adults.

I have found offensive and misleading content on the internet. This is something that I really hate about the internet the most. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to stop the spread of misinformation and offensive content.

The cyberbullying and harassment stuff is brutal too. The internet can turn into this mob mentality so fast, where someone makes one mistake and suddenly their entire life is destroyed. Cancel culture, doxxing, death threats over stupid stuff - it's like people forget there's a real human on the other side of the screen.

And honestly? How addictive it all is. I'll tell myself I'm just going to check Instagram for five minutes and suddenly it's been two hours and I feel like garbage. These platforms are literally designed to hijack our attention and dopamine systems.

The internet gave us so many amazing things, but sometimes it feels like we're the product being sold rather than the users benefiting from it, you know?

I am scared of misuse of artificial intelligence. AI content is full of misleading information. Many people view AI-generated content as a professional advice and this is where they make a huge mistake. AI-generated answers should be viewed as a piece of information only.

What scares me most is how everything seems very permanent. One little mistake and screenshots posted, it has traveled worldwide. Last month, I saw somebody's old tweet resurface and it caused chaos. Strictly speaking, privacy has become a luxury.
