Our staple diet is boiled rice which needs to be cooked in a pressure cooker. For biryanis and pullao we use Basmati rice. Healthwise boiled rice is good as it takes of acidity if any. Drinking rice water that one gets after draining the cooked rice is also good for takaing care of acidity.
 
We prefer White basmati Rice even though we know it's not healthy and the world is moving towards brown or even black rice
 
I like basmati rice, but I buy the Ben's 90 second microwave kind because it's so convenient and still has a good flavor.
