What was the first book you fell in love with as a child?

Probably some sort of picture book.

Now for some books I remember reading... most of Thea Beckman's work. Mostly semi-historical children's books those.

The books that stick in my head are the Faraway tree series by Enid Blyton. I read those over and over.

James Michener's CENTENNIAL.

When I was 11 years old for summer vacation my dad gave me this 1100 page book and said read it before school starts again. It felt like a punishment but ended up being one of my favorite books of all time.
