Police Say a Drunken Driver Smashed Into a Building, Then Left a Debris Trail Leading to a Bar

SLIDELL, La. (AP) — A drunken driver who fled after smashing into a Louisiana building left a debris trail that officers followed to find him at a bar, according to police.
Police officers in Slidell were dispatched Saturday night to a building where a vehicle had smashed through a wall next to the front door and then fled the scene. No one was injured, the police department said in a Facebook post Sunday.
The driver left a trail of shattered glass, transmission fluid and auto parts that officers followed on foot, the department said. Its post said they found the damaged vehicle outside of a bar and the driver sitting at the bar inside.

Police: Man fatally hits pedestrian with vehicle, drives 38 miles with body in passenger seat

A man is in custody after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle, whose body flew into the passenger seat, and drove 38 miles with the victim’s body still inside the car, according to the White Settlement Police Department.

Police say they received a welfare check at around 11:13 p.m. in the 8700 block of Interstate Highway 30 Service Road.

The caller informed police that a gray Kia Forte at the location had extensive damage and the driver appeared to be slumped over the steering wheel.

When officers arrived, police say they noticed what appeared to be a dead human body in the passenger seat and immediately had the driver, 31-year-old Nestor Joel Lujan Flores, detained.

I wonder how many will plead not guilty despite the fact everything they did was captured on video

San Francisco prosecutors begin charging 80 protesters who blocked bridge while demanding cease-fire

— San Francisco prosecutors on Monday began charging 80 protesters who last month blocked traffic for hours on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge while demanding a cease-fire in Gaza.

The protest came as San Francisco was hosting President Joe Biden and other world leaders for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

Seventeen people appeared in court on Monday to face charges of false imprisonment, refusing to comply with a peace officer, unlawful public assembly, refusing to disperse and obstruction of street, sidewalk or other place open to public. Their arraignments were continued to February.

Stolen taxi chase ends in Regina mall

This Regina taxi ride won’t be resulting in a five-star review.

At around 2:48 on Saturday morning, the Regina Police Service responded to reports of a stolen Regina Co-op taxi in the 1100 block of Angus Street.

Once police located the taxi, officers used a traffic stop to try and halt the vehicle, but it drove away.

Shortly afterwards, the stolen taxi was spotted as it rammed into the front doors of a business in the 2200 block of Broad Street. Police believed the vehicle was immobile and approached the taxi, but it began to drive again.

Police observed the vehicle driving at slow speeds and tried to use a spike belt to stop the vehicle.

At around 3:15 a.m., the taxi drove through the front of another business — this one in the 1800 block of Hamilton Street.

Now with significant damage, the taxi drove north on Hamilton Street before ending up on 11th Avenue, where the taxi drove through the south entrance doors of the Cornwall Centre.

When officers began to approach the taxi again inside the mall, it drove off once again, this time through the north entrance of the mall near Saskatchewan Drive. That’s when the vehicle got hung up on the stairs and the driver, a 32-year old female, was taken into custody.

On Sunday, police said the woman had been charged with four counts of mischief over $5,000, two counts of failure to comply with a condition of an undertaking. and one count each of robbery, evading police, dangerous driving, mischief under $5,000, impaired operation, and refusal to comply with a demand.

An Oregon cop has resigned following a slew of alleged incidents involving flashing his genitals and performing sex acts in public.
Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David Richard Mills, 36, has been charged with 12 misdemeanour counts related to his troubling antics, according to court documents.
