What would you want to tell your younger self?

A lot of things for sure, honestly! I cannot even think where to begin for myself, but let me see.

Also be warned the topic may get a bit triggering to some.

You one day wake up and were given the ability to go back and talk to your young self. What advice would you give to them, or say to them?

- Don't let your P.E teacher in high school treat you that way. Speak up sooner than you did about it. Stand up for yourself!
- You should have tried to go back to public schooling. You were given the option and should attempted it at least. Do know the bus ride would have been bad, so ask your father to drive you.
- Do not do the stupid thing that got you fired from your first job!

I would have to tell my younger self not to be so weird and shy growing up to who I am now, cause back then I couldn't stand talking to people or being out in public...
People back then around where so rude and selfish and people I talk to now are completely different.

Don't be afraid to switch jobs. I locked myself into a position out of fear and am still nervous about potentially looking for another job. I probably could have made a lot more money if I had had the balls to say 'fuck it, I'm not getting paid shit' and not had to work two jobs for 10 years.

I'd tell my younger self to take better care of myself (proper lifting techniques, medical checkups, dental hygiene, etc)... I would have saved myself money and spared myself from some of the physical pain I've been plagued with over the years.

Eat healthier and socialize more. Easier said than done, especially at the time.

No thanks. You can't change who you are without destroying who you were. Mistakes happen and it made me who I am now.

I like how the people who said 'mistakes happen' harped on me when I did make a mistake though.

I would also tell my younger parent self to be less reactive and listen more. I think i could have done better in that regard. And not get so caught up in the whole school culture of kids needing certain grades or being on teams, etc. I think we did pretty well in that regard and we did limit our kids to one sport per season because I didnt' want to spend their childhood driving to constant games and eating fast food. Good home cooking was important to me and I think we did ok on that front. But as a parent, I think there are things I could have done better for sure.

Don't blindly obey your parents. This is your life not theirs. And ditch that stupid teenage celebrity crush.
I have tried to be careful in advising my kids. Like here are your options. Here is what I think makes sense to me. But, it is your life and you can take some of my advice, all of my advice or none of my advice. You are not obligated to take my advice and I will not be offended or mad if you do not.

Yeah but you could be a better version of yourself instead. :P

I would have told my younger self to not be so serious. Have more fun. Don't let things weigh you down that really don't matter.

Same here, I used to stress out over the smallest things. Now nothing phases me really :runaround:
