How long does it take you to cool off from whatever triggered it?

Anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours, depending on the situation and whether I can get some personal space.

I was upset with the hospital this weekend because they sent me a bill in the mail over some equipment I believed to be paid off. For an hour I was irate and then I told myself not to let it ruin my weekend. So I did my very best to push that anger down. Kept telling myself that this was no big deal, it will pass and that it's just another bump in the road. No.... telling myself those things didn't work 100% but it did help to not make me as stressed, I still had anxiety over it. They were closed over the weekend and I couldn't call Monday because of the ice storm we had. So I got a hold of the guy today and he stated that it had not converted over as an owned unit yet, to which he went in and manually converted it and even voided the bill that I got. After the phone call, all of my stress on the issue was gone. My day has been much better.

Now that's a great result. I'm sorry you had to stress about it for a few days unnecessarily, but I'm so, so glad it was voided and taken care of!

Depends on what the issue is for me. It takes a great deal to ruffle my feathers these days. I think in general I get less anger from things and more a disappointment feeling or frustration. I've learned to manage them all better. I've had to. Lots of breathing through things instead so i don't get my blood pressure up and heighten the cortisol levels. Anger, stress... all those intense negative feelings make you fat and unhealthy. lol

Me too. Dealing with the medical system often times just stresses me out. I am not a fan of the hospitals and clinics.

About 2 days. But I can hold a grudge forever.

Agreed, it's also disappointing that healthcare is a business, a privilege in the US. It shouldn't be, it should be a right. You're sick? You get help. Need a therapist? You get help.

It's the billing departments and health insurance that are the problem. They monopolize off of the sick. A lot of people avoid going to the doctor or local clinics because of them.

Even some doctors and nurse practitioners screw up and misdiagnose you. And if you can't pay? That's okay, they'll send bill collectors to harass you over the phone at your workplace and spam your cellphone weekly about it paying it all. They don't care that you're paying them monthly payments. Still can't pay? That's even better, they'll just take you to court and put a lean up against your property and ruin your credit score. Worse, some hospitals or clinics won't see you if you do not carry health insurance. You don't even own your health. They do because they hold it hostage behind a paywall when it all starts going to shit. Pay this for that treatment, pay that for this treatment. It's unacceptable.

Absolutely agree, they have to perform the wallet biopsy before they even consider treating you. It's insanity.

Depends on what happened. It takes a lot for me to get really angry to the point where I'm struggling with it for a few days or longer, but more often than not it's usually a day or so.
