Do you ever view Who's Online on forums. Why?

Ever been on a forum that didn't allow you to view Who is online? I went to one forum that disallowed members viewing who is online and I noticed they had their timer way out of wack. It showed me as logged in even though I was not (was looking at the forum with a different browser) and I haven't been on that forum in like 12 hours.
