Why Do We Get Blackout Drunk?

I'm probably one of the hardest drinking members of the board.
And I don't it it by drinking anything like this:
I'm talking straight bourbon and the occasional slug of tequila.
And I can honestly say I haven't passed out from drinking in at least twenty five years.
And the times when I can honestly say I was no longer in full control of myself was probably about fifteen years ago.
