Why men marry their moms

New research out of Finland suggests that men are likely to date -- and form relationships with -- women who look like their own moms.



Is that normal?



Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist, and author of Why Him? Why Her? How to Find and Keep Lasting Love, discussed the study with Anthony Mason and Rebecca Jarvis.

For the guys: Any truth to this?

In my case. No. (either time)



In the case of my daughter's fiance? No. (I know his mother)



In the case of my father's wife (my mother)? No. (I knew my grandmother and seen pictures of her as a young woman as well)



Small sample size, but so far, four for four.

I'm finding some truth in this. My dad:

• 6'2
  
• Dark haired
  
• Olive complexion
  
• Slim - athletic build
  
• Clean shaven
  
• Italian
  

Now that I look back, I must say that over 90% of the guys I have been in a relationship with match my dad.



No one can ever look like my dad. They can only resemble him or remind me of things my dad did or said.
