Do you think humans will last another 1,000 years?

Will humans still be around in 10,000 years?

1,000 years? most likely. 10,000 isn't looking all too great at this point.

I think we'll be around in 10,000. Probably living in pods because the atmosphere will be too polluted. Acid rain and stuff like that.

Only god knows

Only god knows, but not with putin

This thread is asking what YOU think. :P

Even if we stopped now, we've harmed it a lot already!

The Soviet Union did a lot of damage to the environment with Chernobyl and the Kyshtym disaster. Ionizing radiation emitted from Cesium-137 from fission reactors doesn't just go away. This is why places like Chernobyl will be contaminated for thousands of years.

I watched a documentary on Chernobyl a while back, it was pretty good. Sad what happened there.

The Soviet Union never gave an accurate casualty estimate from the disaster. They wanted to cover it up and limited information as much as possible. Several scientific studies indicate there were thousands more than the 31 deaths they reported.

I'll bet!

I have always felt that it was a race for humans to get into space before we kill Earth. I would love to say that it was a race to save Earth, but that doesn't seem like a race we want to get behind. Either way, I think we are losing.

I think humans will be around long after the earth is an unlivable place.

We won't make it one thousand years. By then the Earth will probably be scorching and unlivable. Part of me still expects the plot from Snowpiercer to become a legitimate thing.

Just because the earth might be unlivable, doesn't mean humans wont figure out a way to live in colonies on other planets, or on a giant ship floating through space.
