Justin Bieber's picture may be plastered all over the walls and lunchboxes of millions of teenage girls, but not in a comic book, if the company that manages his merchandising has any say.
A few weeks ago, Bluewater Productions, a Vancouver, Wash., publisher that specializes in biographical comic books, announced it was doing books based on the lives of Lady Gaga and Bieber. When that happened, the legal fur started flying.
Attorney Kenneth Feinswog sent Bluewater President Darren Davis a cease-and-desist letter on behalf of Bravado, the merchandising firm that licenses the images of celebrities like Bieber and Gaga for posters, shoelaces, notebook covers and lunchboxes.
However, Davis has no plans to cease nor does he plan to desist.
