The state of Florida outlaws gay marriage, but has nothing to say about humans marrying fairground rides. That's a loophole Linda Ducharme has exploited with great enthusiasm.
Ducharme first 'met' her husband - a giant Skydiver ferris wheel, which she calls 'Bruce' - in 1982. Last year they got married and recently renewed their vows.
The ceremony was televised on a documentary on Logo TV in America called 'What?'. It showed the non-denominational preacher declaring, "I tie you, flesh to steel."
Ducharme said of her first meeting with 'Bruce' at a carnival: "I got this weird feeling I can't explain. My heart was pounding as we went up the platform and got on the ride. I felt like I was being taken by this ride."
Ducharme had previously fallen in love with an aeroplane when she was a pilot and was involved in an intimate relationship with a train.
