Our total population was in 2008: 6 707 000 000

We are with way to much, we boost the Global Warming. We produce allot of CO2 Of course other life forums produce to allot of Co2. But how much can our earth keep alive for the coming hundreds of years ? Its very simply with the more we come the less resources will be available in time. I mean the oil will be so good as gone in 50 years. We should keep a number of 5 000 000 000 and not cross it.

What do you guy's think we should do about it ? Or just do nothing ?

Well, Global Warming exists (how do we get out of Ice Ages?), but humans don't contribute. As for the population, the only way to get rid of 1.7 Billion people is ban reproduction until 1.7 Billion people die, or cull 1.7 Billion people. It's a very flawed theory, and it will take another good 50 years or more until the world's population actually starts to become a problem.

We arent that over populated. There is still parts of almost all countries with nothing for miles and miles.

no no no. All which will happen is that people will have to build on parts of earth that we at the momement would never do!

Just a bit of a flawed plan. It's definitely not foolproof.

Are you saying the things WE release into the atmosphere have no effect?

We could do stuff like what Sam! suggested but, It would be very hypocritical if we killed 1.7 billion people.I say we keep the population as is and actually deal with the problem and not just fixing it with tape.

I would say something, but i won't because i know i would get a lot of shit for it.

But really, the world is growing so quickly now, we need to figure out some plan so we don't take over populate completely, where i am living, it used to be nice, and there wouldn't be no where as near houses as there are now, it's sad to see really, the developers are taking away the wildlife, nature and everything surrounding it.

They need to do something, and those who say global warming does not exist, they need to have a stronger look, China and Japan are the worse, they need to change, but they don't.

We cant really do anything about it except for limiting each woman to only having one or two children and then forcing abortions on any pregnancies after that. I doubt many countries will go for that. I think China does it already though.

Yeah, i don't think you would be able to force it upon people, but make them aware about it, especially in the financial status the world has at the moment, i would think it would be hard to bring up a kid, let alone 2 or 3.

Another thing I need to say as a resident from Asia.

Asians seem to have a last name obsession since the ancient times. Correct me if I am wrong.

So if we use the limiting each family's size, it's possible that we will continue to see female infanticide. Not sure about westerners though

Well first of all a lot is two words & I'm not quite sure what a life forum is. A population cap is a fascist idea which invades an individual's right to privacy. It is not the right of any government to tell how many children an individual can have.

people these days just can't keep it in thier pants, they have to stop mating! that's why the gays are so useful these days becuase they can't have children.

well the world is supposed to end in 2012 that could do the trick.

Indeed, let's just hang or electrocute a few hundred million people, that way we can stop global warming.

I think I have to agree with master412160

But what can we do to reduce or slow down its growth?

Education and job opportunities. We see the family size in this modern era to be smaller than decades ago because people spend more time and energy working to earn money and to give their children a good environment to grow and to succeed in life.

Global warming caused by humans? Debatable.
