A dog shelter recently rescued what might be the dirtiest little poodle ever, and brought her back from the brink of death.

Rescue From The Heart foundation found Layla in a terrible state in south Los Angeles.

Her white curls were covered in dirt and matted, and she was so thin she could barely walk.

Layla was in such a state that the rescue worker was moved to tears at the sight of her.

After being rescued Layla had to be hospitalised for two weeks and have all her fur shaved off.

Amazingly she made a full recovery and is now looking for a new home.

It just goes to show, don’t judge a book by it’s cover (or a dog by it’s fur).

Thank goodness they found and helped Layla.
