Would you rather not be able to speak or not be able to read? Explain your answer in this thread!

I'd rather not be able to speak. I liked reading books, magazines, etc as a kid/teenager so wouldn't want to lose the ability not to be able to read.

If I cannot speak, I can still communicate in writing or gestures, however, not having the ability to read will restrict me from gaining knowledge.
