Would you reccommend social networking site's as an advertising resource?

Well, would you advise members to use social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Zoints and much more site's to use these to advertise.



Me personally no, as most admin's request member to join or become friend's with the forum's social network page, and you ain't gonna gain site activity if member's of your forum are becoming friends/followers with the profile, your opinions?

I do twitter but I dont think its brought in that many members.

I use Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. All have been good for my forum.



I don't personally see why members adding other people of these sites makes any difference to your site not gaining activity.

I'll take promotion forums anyday. I have tried Twitter once, but I didn't care for it, I tried Facebook once, but I had more people joining my group than the actual site, so I don't think sites like Facebook are very effective at all. You're better off with promotion forums, search engines, etc.
