Ah, you know what I mean. Seriously, though, why does vegetable have such horrible taste? I'm an adult and still can't get past the repulsive taste, so it's no wonder that kids whose taste buds are much more sensitive tend to spit it out when forcibly shoved in their mouth by their parents.

I should think that smell is underrated and pretty important for survival; good to be able to smell smoke in case of near fire; also to detect rotten or "off" food before you eat it; and, as Neb pointed out .. detecting a gas leak.
