What's something that your parent/parents have said to you, that has stuck with you forever?

Never to mock and / or ridicule anyone, not even a crooked tree.

Of course, they never followed it themselves and often mocked & ridiculed other people for whatever reason(s).

My mother and my step father taught me to be respectful and courteous to others. That not everyone has morals and that I should watch what I say and keep my beliefs and opinions to myself.

When I was a teen my father said "I work my fuc*ing ass off for you" when I told him don't be lazy regarding going into a grocery store to grab something. It has stuck with me to this day, it's the first time I heard my father drop the F-Bomb.

Typical BS parents like to use against their children for an instant victory in any situation. Equal to rank pulling in the military. Might as well not have children altogether if you're going to use guilt as a weapon against them.

My father to me: 'One day you will kill someone with that temper of yours'.

Not so far.
