YouTube is 10 years old today, let’s celebrate by… watching some videos

Ten years ago today the first ever video was uploaded to YouTube, and here it is:

It might not seem like much, but it started a world-wide cultural phenomenon, and made its star – Jawed Karim – a multi-millionaire (he also co-founded the website).

In celebration of the billions of hours the world has wasted on YouTube in the past 10 years, here are some of Metro.co.uk‘s favourite viral vids.

With 2billion views and counting, Gangnam Style is still the most watched video of all time.

If YouTube is 10, and still has temper tantrums and pouts and refuses to do anything, how bad is it going to be when it is a teenager?
