You'd think that creatures meant to sting you and make you cry would be the type of evil animal that would happily fly away cackling after hurting you, but most bees die after they sting. Why is this?

Aha. So that's why they die. I don't think I've ever been stung by a bee, though. Wasps have stung me multiple times, usually somewhere in my arm / hand, and once in the back of my neck.

Wasps, yes. Bees, no.
 
I've heard of this from many people that it hurts the bee more than you to sting. It pretty much guts the bee.

unless you're allergic to it, some humans have died from one or more stings...
